The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) is a government agency attached to the Office of the President that is mandated by law to provide financial assistance through scholarships to qualified and deserving students, preferably the underprivileged and homeless citizens under Republic Act No. 7279, Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) under Republic Act No. 7277 as amended, Solo Parents and/or their Dependents under Republic Act No. 8972, and Senior Citizens and/or their Dependents under Republic Act No. They work to ensure that education is available to everybody, particularly underprivileged and deserving students, and to assist them in completing their college degrees.
Who is eligible to apply?
All Filipino citizens who are graduating high school students or high school graduates with a GWA of 93 percent or higher are eligible for the CHED Scholarship Programs (CSPs). Their families’ combined annual gross income shall not exceed Php 400,000.00. If a student applicant is accepted as a CHED scholar, he or she must enroll in one of CHED’s priority courses.
